m in 2-3 weeks - you can virtually watch them grow! The first flowers of the giant amazon water lily normally appear in
May, with buds up to 20cm across! The stunning flowers last for only 3 days, changing from pure
white to delicate pink and purple. The flower opens in the evening and closes in the morning, trapping insects which transfer pollen to other newly opened, white flowers upon their release the following evening.
*As the giant amazon water lily is difficult to grow, it depends on the season and growing conditions as to whether it will be in flower of not.
